Vertical Centrifugal S and Pump/Sump (Pilot Size)
The Vertical Centrifugal Sand Pumps are designed for pumping abrasive slurries. They handle intermittent or varying feed, are well suited for pilot plant applications for pumping slurries, since the feed to the pump may either be introduced into the top of the 4 gallon bowl, or alternatively, through a feed port inlet.
The capacities vary from 7 GPM to 200 GPM. The sand pump has a riser overflow pipe, designed to overflow slurry and/or froth at a level that will protect the pumps lower seals and bearings from immersion. The riser may be rotated to the proper height to suit a specific installation.
Some advantages of the sand pump are Ni-Hard constructed wear parts, with a hardness of 550 Brinell, rubber molded follower plate, runner adjustment is made through a screw device positioned in heavy lug cast integral with bearing housing, with the housing sliding in babbited bearings cast in the pump bowl, lower bearing is positioned above the slurry level, pump design eliminates air locking, pump requires no packing gland or sealing water, pump has its own integral sump, gravity feed to pump is possible, pump may be operated dry without damage, all parts are readily accessible for easy maintenance. The 1 1/2” and the 2” Sand Pump’s are constructed of carbon steel, with abrasion resistant alloy wear parts.
