The THOR rotary vibration mill is ideal for grind- ing and mixing of laboratory samples of practically any fracturable material. The unit is the utmost of quality design and constructed for ease of handling, with pneumatic clamping devices as standard, outstanding sample preparation speed, and a long operating life with minimal maintenance.
This mill will grind 600g to 1.2 Kg samples to – 325 mesh (45μ) in a matter of minutes. Standard grinding containers are constructed of 70 Rockwell C hardness chrome steel alloy. Maxi- mum feed size is 1/2”. The mill is manufactured under ISO 9000 quality standards. Many mining, metallurgical laboratories are now required to process larger samples to improve statistical accuracy or analytical testing, and the THOR mill will superbly pulverize these larger samples, giving a finely pulverized material for splitting and analysis in the laboratory. ￼￼￼
The grinding containers are available in chrome steel, incorporate a split disc to pulverize the sample by an eccentric vibratory action. The mill is equipped with an easy to use pneumatic clamping device for quick, effort free clamping these large grinding bowls in place. Effective vibration damping and sound reduction is standard design. The control includes a timer which may be set from 1-5 minutes, ample time to grind any material in the THOR Mill. The mill is enclosed in a sound proof container, for quiet operation in the lab. Noise levels are held to less than 80 dB.
A) The standard 600g and 1,200g container sets are a patented split disc design, with the 600 g holding 400g – 600g and the 1.2 Kg holding between 600 g and 1,200 g, constructed of abrasion resistant chrome-steel alloy with a 70 RC hardness. (Capacity is based on a 2.4 SG material)
B) Tungsten carbide alloy grinding container is only available in the 100 gram size. This hard material extends the container life, is extremely abrasion resistant.
