The 3x4L is a popular batch type High- Intensity Wet Magnetic Separator designed to separate paramagnetic materials from nonmagnetic materials
The unit has a large separating chamber that can accept a variety of interchangeable pole media including soft iron spheres and Stainless steel wool depending on the application and magnetic gradient desired, Ferromagnetic material can be removed initially by operation at low current settings.
Standard equipment includes 3 sizes of sphere media. Feeding is accomplished by introducing approximately 10-200 grams (dry weight) of material with water to provide for a density of 15-60 percent solids by weight into the separating chamber with media in place and coil current at desired settings. Magnetic material will be retained in the chamber after flushing with water while nonmagnetic material will be collected in a product pan. The magnetic fraction can then be washed from the cell into a separate pan after the coil current has been turned off.
